Payment Terms
Master Card and Visa are accepted for payment.
Transportation and Delivery
Freight will be FOB Roanoke, VA. UPS shipping charges will be added.
All prices are quoted FOB shipping point unless otherwise specifically agreed upon. Delivery to Transportation Company shall constitute complete delivery. Time for delivery is estimated as accurately as possible, but is subject to delays or breakdowns beyond the control of Safety Step and is not guaranteed.
Return Procedures
A Request for product return must be made by mail, fax or e-mail to obtain authorization and a Return Goods Number (RMA).
The request is to indicate quantity, Safety Step product number, the reason for the return, invoice number, and description. Do not ship returns until the proper authorization and an RMA have been obtained. The following criteria must be met to obtain authorization and an RMA.
- Must be a Safety Step product.
- Return must be shipped prepaid.
- Must be in an unused, saleable condition.
- Items must have the product ID number intact.
Customer Inspections
Customer shall inspect all Product within 10 days after the date delivery of the Product to Buyer (“Inspection Period”). Customer shall notify Safety Step in writing of any Product defects, shortages, over-shipments or non-conformance within the Inspection Period. If customer discovers any damaged or missing Product, Customer shall require the carrier to i) make a notation of Buyer’s discovery on the bill of lading, and ii) sign the bill of lading, indicating the time & date.
Return Authorizations
Our Return Authorization will only allow the return of products requiring warranty determination, or products in a saleable condition. Show our RMA number on packing slips and on all shipping containers. Warranties and Product returns should be kept separate in the shipment and on the packing slips. Credit will be given only for parts approved and listed on the Return Authorization. Upon inspection, you will be advised of any items that could not be credited according to our warranty and return policies. You must advise Safety Step within 30 days if you wish ineligible items to be returned to you, freight-collect. Items left over 30 days will be disposed of at our discretion.
Items Ordered in Error
Items ordered in error may be returned if a Return Authorization and an RMA number are obtained within 72 hours of the receipt of the goods. Credit will be issued at the original price purchased less a 15% restocking fee. Return freight must be prepaid.
Damage, Shortage, or Loss
Safety Step is not responsible for loss or damage of products in transit. Any damage caused during transit should be filed with the Transportation Company. Safety Step must be notified in writing of any damage or shortage of material within five days of receipt of goods or the goods. Customer shall notify Safety Step in writing of any Product defects, shortages, over-shipments, or non-conformance within this five-day Inspection Period. If the customer discovers any damaged or missing Product, the Customer shall require the Transportation Company to i) make a notation of this Buyer’s discovery on the bill of lading, and ii) sign the bill of lading, indicating the time, date, and person making the inspection..
Warranties
Our Products are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase. Our liability from all causes is limited to the value of the goods sold or furnished. This is the complete and full warranty, no further warranty expressed or implied, is allowed.
Warranty is void if the product has been damaged by accident, neglect, fire, improper service, unreasonable use of causes not arising out of defects in material or workmanship.
All products claimed defective should be returned, freight prepaid, to the factory with a written explanation of why the product is thought to be defective.
After inspection, a final decision will be made as to whether the product will be covered under the terms of this warranty. A written report of our findings will be given.
This warranty shall not apply to any product consumed due to normal wear, use, or passage of time, or has been subjected to accident, negligence, alteration (including any product that has had a serial number altered, defaced, or the tag removed), abuse, or misuse.
This warranty is expressly in lieu of any other warranties, whether expressed or implied, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall Safety Step be liable for incidental or consequential damages of any kind. Further, Safety Step neither assumes nor authorizes any person to assume for it any liability other than warranty conditions with the sale of its manufactured products.
Applicability of Terms and Conditions
All sales are final. All prices are net cash 30 days from date of invoice (Net 30) unless otherwise stated in Safety Step’s proposal, quotation or offer. Should Buyer for any reason default in the payment of the contract of purchase, Buyer agrees to pay all collection costs, attorney fees and expenses incurred in collecting payment, including interest at the rate of 2.0% per month on the outstanding invoice balance. Any change in payment method must be confirmed with Safety Step by phone. Payment is not considered made until monies are received by Safety Step Corporation.
